OUR NON-PROFIT STATUS

Citizens Coalition for Change (formerly Concerned Citizens of Compton, Inc.) is a 501(c)4.

That allows us to work on all levels of "Advocacy" and "Activism."

In terms of "Advocacy," we are involved in such activities as public speaking, mainstream and social media campaigns, research, petitions, meeting with government officials, to name a few. Our activities aim to influence decisions within economic, political, and social systems and institutions.

In terms of "Activism," we are involved in the use of direct, confrontational action as necessary. Our activities may include, but not limited to demonstrations, boycotts, rallies, street marches, and sit-ins.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The organizational structure of Citizens Coalition for Change (formerly Concerned Citizens of Compton, Inc.) is the core of the organization.

 

Our structure is divided into three functioning areas:

  • Governance,

  • Administration, and

  • Programs.

BUILDING POWER 

Citizens Coalition for Change (formerly Concerned Citizens of Compton, Inc.) works within our community to:

  • build our supporter base,

  • recruit and train volunteers, activists and leaders, and

  • hold elected officials accountable.

endorsements of candidates through a questionnaire process.

 

Candidates receive endorsements in both primary and general elections through a rigorous  questionnaire process at the local level.

PARTISAN POLITICAL ACTIVITY

Our Partisan Political Activities include:

  • Endorsing or opposing candidates

  • Endorsing or opposing ballot measures

  • Partisan voter outreach

  • Developing a pipeline of “good” candidates

  • Establishing and/or managing connected political action committees

  • Contributing directly or indirectly to local candidates

  • Conducting voter registration or get-out-the-vote (GOTV) drives aimed at supporting a candidate or party.
