Calling Qualified Compton Residents.
The City of Compton is now accepting applications for residents interested in serving on the Charter Review Committee, an advisory body tasked with reviewing the City Charter and recommending potential updates for City Council consideration.

This is an opportunity for Compton residents to directly participate in shaping the foundational document of City Charter that governs how our City operates.
The Role of the Charter Review Committee
The Charter Review Committee plays a critical role in local governance. Committee members review provisions of the City Charter, engage with residents through town hall–style meetings to gather public input, and carefully analyze community feedback. Based on this process, the committee develops recommendations for revisions, additions, or changes to the Charter. These recommendations are compiled into a formal written report for City Council review and discussion and, if approved, may be considered for placement on a future ballot.
Who Is Eligible to Serve on the Charter Review Committee
Residents with an interest in civic engagement, government structure, accountability, and the long-term future of Compton are encouraged to apply.

This is a guiding principle for committee composition and does not constitute an eligibility requirement for individual applicants.
